CDS selected as mentor in the frame of ISNAD (International Support Network for African Development)
We have the pleasure to collaborate with Mitiku ADISU WORKU, PhD student at Addis Ababa University (Ethiopia), College of Natural Sciences (http://www.aau.edu.et/cns/), Center for Environmental Science. In this frame, Mitiku is studying the ‘Impacts of Climate Variability and Change on Feed and Water Resources in Borana Lowland, Southern Ethiopia’. For his research, Mitiku is under the supervision of Dr. Gudina Legese Feyisa (http://www.aau.edu.et/cns/center-for-environmental-science/gudina-legese-feyisa/) and by Dr. Kassahun Ture (http://www.aau.edu.et/cns/center-for-environmental-science/kassahun-ture/). Mitiku should finish his PhD in June 2022. Some of the researches of Mitiku involve a downscaling of climatic variables at high resolution (less than 1km) for the assessment of water resources, but also in order to forecast the potential impacts of climate change on vegetation structures and agriculture areas, thematic for which ASES and CDS developed methodologies and tools.
We hope a successful share of expertise between ASES/CDS and our colleagues from Addis Ababa University!
